We core a 5-inch hole through the basement slab at the suction point location, excavate a small pit beneath the slab for airflow, and route PVC pipe through the rim joist to the exterior. The pipe runs vertically along the side or back of the house to above the roofline, with the fan mounted at a midpoint.
We seal all penetrations, caulk the suction point, and paint the exterior pipe to match your siding. The system is activated the same day.
Post-Installation Testing and Warranty
Every system includes a follow-up radon test 24-48 hours after installation. We use a continuous radon monitor to verify that levels have dropped below 4.0 pCi/L — and in most cases, well below 2.0.
If the post-mitigation test shows levels above the EPA action level, we return and modify the system at no additional cost. That is our written guarantee.
Radon fans carry a manufacturer warranty of 5 years. We recommend annual system checks and retesting every 2 years per Ohio Department of Health guidelines.
